Frequently Asked Questions

Most fax numbers are transferrable between providers. We call this ‘fax number porting’ and it is available on all GoFax plans, excluding our Standard Receive only plans. GoFax can port fax numbers from almost all carriers across Australia, New Zealand and over 50 countries globally. We recommend contacting your current carrier to confirm number portability. Fax number porting fees are dependent upon your existing carrier and configuration. Explore Fax Number Porting.

Yes certainly. Receiving fax to email with GoFax is as easy as selecting the receiving fax number and adding the email and you wish to forward to.

If you are a high-volume fax receiver and needing to also send faxes, we would recommend adding Send Package credits to your account. Send Packages are separate credits, they never expire, and you can top up at any time. If you are on the lower-volume side and looking to receive and send faxes, our most popular options are our Bundle Plans. Bundle Plans include both send credits and fax receive pages, providing an included quantity of send credits and receive fax pages per month based on the bundle selected.

All custom ordered or ported in fax numbers can be ported away. All GoFax system numbers (number available for immediate purchase) are unable to be ported away.

The receive plans are dedicated to fax only. If you’re interested in receiving SMS, you can use our free shared number option which allows you to receive SMS replies for up to 48 hours. Alternatively, you can get a custom virtual mobile number for $18.50/month which allows you to receive unlimited replies. Contact our sales team to learn more about virtual mobile numbers.

Yes, GoFax supports fax and SMS sending direct from your email. To send faxes or SMS directly from your email, simply add the email address you wish to send from as an allowed sender on your GoFax account. Send credits purchased from Send Packages available never expire and can be topped up at any time. Send credits allocated in Bundled plans however do expire each month.

Refunds aren’t available on any prepaid GoFax Send Service packages and/or credits, used or unused. Prepaid credits are non-transferable between services or accounts.
